Austrian Association of Alternative Telecommunications Operators

VAT, a network partner of the Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industries (FEEI), was established in 1997 and represents the interests of Austrian alternative telecom operators. VAT-member companies from the fixed and mobile sector are Colt, Hutchison, T-Mobile, Tele2, and Verizon.

VAT acts as the comprehensive representative body of alternative operators and acts as an important counterpart to the previous incumbent, towards regulatory bodies and authorities on the Austrian and international level. 

The main tasks of the association include commenting on telecommunications law, regulation, interconnection and numbering as well as publicty work to create a positive climate for telecom liberalization in Austria.
